Just took delivery of my second vintage hill this afternoon and what a beauty it is.  This bow is from the same place as the swift I just made a thread about a few days ago. These two vintage hills were the original owners main hunting bows for years.  This bow is named “the emperor” and it’s unique because it has black facings on the belly.  I don’t know if this is one of the elusive baleen backed bows or not.  It’s hard to say.  It’s a wild looking black glass in that it’s almost translucent when you hold it in the light at certain angles.  I’ve never seen a bow from the era with black facings.  I’d estimate that this bow is around 55# just by flexing it a bit.  It is in really nice condition.  It’s such a cool and good looking bow.  Here are some pics!   89DD7EAF-C5C2-41C5-9033-F450E871A00B.jpeg  E062FA34-6FD0-4F4D-98A0-C328031CA095.jpeg  22A71E2B-63E7-4383-915E-14DA31B162BE.jpeg  BCB539B0-83A7-47E7-B395-81E308C16BC4.jpeg  1DF1216D-9812-453F-89DD-FD876520DC4F.jpeg  FD38260F-479D-408A-9877-7A8648E174BA.jpeg  34604C63-4624-43A3-B973-72F606D3D744.jpeg  42258EB9-3FA3-47E6-91C6-532D9239CB79.jpeg  8997ABC3-432E-4E5B-AA91-8ED1B50FA9E8.jpeg  429A54C6-85CA-4DB9-9F37-6FA177AC4121.jpeg  C43E5040-C92B-4E68-950B-53BA1DE19D78.jpeg  56C8D3A8-147A-41C8-B514-A6F0681EC949.jpeg

I saw one MANY years ago.  It was made by Jim Darling.  It also had a convex back and the limbs were not massive yet it drew 80#!
