Folks, I'd like to thank everyone who attended and supported the 16th Howard Hill Classic, 2020. First, thanks to Vendors, Big Jim's, Acadian Woods, Byron Ferguson, Tome Rowan Traditional Archery, Bivouac Bow Co., Art by Broughton, Rock Pile Farms, Wayne Awhl, The Longbow Shop and a few others.

Next, THANK YOU, for the 227 shooters that came. Yes, the shoot numbers were down due to rescheduling, and, as we all know, other factors.

BUT, the quality of shooters, friendship and family atmosphere couldn't have been better.

I'll be posting the Championship Shoot Down Winners, along with photos, as well as the American Traditional Archer's Men & Women's "Top Shot" winner of each of those three.

I will also be posting the Winner of the American Traditional Archer belt buckle fro each class, their scores and the 2nd & 3rd Place shooter with their score as well.

Remember folks, next year, I will be going back to the format I've always had, a Multi Round event with the high score one shoots over the course of the weekend. A 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place award will be given.

Folks, plans are already being made to blow the top off the 2021 Howard Hill Classic.

I'll be posting more info a little later, NOW, for those were here to also get some extra practice for the upcoming IBO Trad World at the Twin Oaks Club in Clarksville, TN. Good luck to those shooters as well as all others. I hope there's a great turn out.

Folks, the "Championship Shoot Down" was very exciting. This year was the first year where there were a final three winners.

I want to personally thank Kerri Doyle with Traditional Bowhunter Magazine that cosponsored with American Traditional Archer for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prize money. There was $1,200 divided between the Men & Women's Winners.

The Men's Champions were Sam Sandifer, $300 1st Place ~ Scott Koenig, $200 2nd Place ~ John Sullins, $100 3rd Place.
The Women's Champions were Sherry Pugh, $300 1st Place ~ Sherry Magallanes, $200 2nd Place ~ Amanda Gray, $100 3rd Place IMG_0597.jpg  IMG_0590.jpg

Alright folks, you've seen the three Men & Women who won the 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in the Championship Shoot Down.

Well, when they won, they then had to shoot against their peers for the American Traditional Archer "Top Shot" award.

Here they are!!

Sam Sandifer not only won 1st Place in the Shoot Down, he also took the "Top Shot" trophy.

NOW, the 2nd Place winner of the Shoot Down may not have took 1st Place, BUT, she took the "Top Shot" award, Sherry Magallanes.

Folks, it was a blast watching these folks shoot.

Folks, we added a little more excitement to the Championship Shoot Down this year.

My wife, Rhonda, came up with the idea of something for those who might not qualify for the Top Shooters positions.

We tried to spread the word throughout Friday & Saturday, that if anyone who didn't see their name posted, to carry their bow to the Shoot Down area.

We then had those non-qualifiers to put their names on a card and we then drew 5 names. There were only 3 Ladies so they all got to participate. SO, it's a Luck of the Draw competition for this.

When we had those few Men & Women, they got to shoot three of the Shoot Down Targets, for a $100 cash prize.

Whitney Mendiola & B.J. Marsee were the two winners of this new and fun competition.

I really thought this was a really cool idea for those that may be just starting out, or maybe hardly ever get to get into the Shoot Down.

In fact, B.J. Marsee, had never shot at an event before, EVER. How cool is that.

Next year, this prize has been raised to $200.
