Kent sent me a message last week from Utah when I was in Indiana hosting the TAS Bowhunter World Championship. A bunch of the TAS members are at camp in Utah chasing elk.I want to wish them the best of luck!

Hoping they get a break in the weather.  Looks like they are having a bit of a heat wave around Salt Lake City this week.  Expect it will be cooler in the mountains, but some climbing is clearly going to be required.

No shots fired. Every one put some miles on their boots. Alot of fresh sign but could not bring the elk into our sights. However I did have a female moose walk within 5 yards of me. That was fun

20200831_140920.jpg camp was at upper right, where that strip of trees along the brown sage ends.

If you have never walked a 10,000ft high ridge and looked down,  walked in on two bull moose with about a 35 yard broadside shot ( and no moose tag in your pocket),  looked up from camp at the end of the day, to see more stars than you thought possible, and then argue whether that one was really above me or above you ( Mike), or sat down to eat what Mike and I feasted on each evening...you missed some great things.
The camaraderie of fellow trad bow hunters is like few others in my book.

Looks like elk country to me. Reminds me of Colorado. Thanks for the pictures.
