Just rec. this in the mail.  Without question the nicest looking recurve I've ever had the pleasure to own or handle.  I have not shot it yet but without question just hands down a gorgeous bow.   20181210_180434.jpg  20181210_180447.jpg

I sure love my Sunbear longbow! And while Mr. Lamb has is widely recognized as a preeminent professor of prose, his talent crafting an 'ol stick and sting ain't too shabby. [wink]

Shot it a good bit today in my back yard off my deck.  It has a skinny string on it now, but might change it out to a heavier string.  Using 70-74 spined footed arrows 29" BOP.  5.5" lw fetch.  These are heavy arrows by any standard.  The bow shoots where I'm looking.  Quiet and stable too but the riser because of the woods used is pretty heavy and that just adds to the stability.  Cast is very good at least at 15yds.  It is 63#@28" and pretty darn smooth drawing.  I think with a B50 or 55 string on it that might make it even better.  I don't know if I should go with a flemish twist like that is on it or an endless loop.  Has a very nice grip also with Charlie Lamb's trademark finger grooves on the right side of the site window so the hand placement is very consistent, and it shoots right off the hand or darn near.  Limb tips remind of the old Asbell Bighorn recurves.  I was going to put pads under the string at the belly grooves but am not going to now cause it isn't loud at all especially with those arrows.  It weird but the more I shot it the easier it seemed to draw but again I am probably just getting used to it.  So there ya go, functional art, in a gorgeous hard hitting recurve.  keepem sharp

Longbow... thanks for the little review of the Sunbear recurve. It's not often that I here those kinds of things about the bows I build. Mostly I hear nothing. I wish you lots of good shooting with your Sunbear.
