Ok, so maybe it's not the eye candy you were expecting to be made of yew😉. My friend Mike (bugle-up) sent me some yew blocks from Oregon a while back with the idea of trying to make some turkey call strikers. I had made us a couple out of curly maple last season that we really liked, so it was time to experiment. I just finished this one that I'm sending to Mike, and I have to say it sounds fantastic on my slate! I also decided to make him a knife with a handle made from some of the yew that wasn't suitable for strikers. He's pretty excited to receive his goodies!

Looks great. I have chunks of osage squirreled away. Not a bow in these chunks, but lots of potential handles and stuff.

I'm pretty lucky to have such a talented friend who can make such cool stuff.  Cutting the yew was the easy part.
