A couple of my small game arrows have taken a beating in the brush and needed fletch replaced.  These were originally glued and burned but I decided to make a simple template to cut matching feathers.  Not a nice day outside so a good day for some indoor fun.

Started with a template cut from a piece of file folder and matching the existing fletch.  I clamped in onto a piece of sheet metal and scratched out two matching pieces.

Cut them out rough, matched them and clamped them then filed to be two matching pieces.

The rest of this is easily understood with pictures only.  Epoxied a paper clip to the pieces to form a clamp and it was ready to go.

I needed three to repair this four fletch arrow. It was quick work trimming them to size and shape.  The best scissors for this turned out to be a small pair made for fly tying.

Well that's damn brilliant. I'll have to make myself one! I've been trying to cut em with one of those roller cutters (Olaf?) and it's a disaster lol

Thanks for sharing!

Nice job Longcruise. I like the fact you could make any shape you want.

Thanks again fellas.  I'm planning on making a few more.  Probably a five inch for three fletch and something for kids arrows.
