This is an excerpt from an article in the April/May 1993 issue of TBM....this is what I was attempting to say in an earlier thread about the current climate about compound converts that we are seeing.. I didn’t say at well as JD Berry did 25 years ago....BTW, I ordered an Apollo as soon as I had finished reading the article!

Be sure and note the last paragraph....
“ as grandfathers of Archery, we owe what we have taken.
30 or 40 years from now we’re going to be considered the old man of archery and we all owe it to the archers of the future, and to ourselves, to install the ethics knowledge and dedication to the sport that we love.

Tim, thanks for the reprint; OE is rather 'profound'.

And as many of us know, old OE has lived those words right up to today.

Indeed that's Oe to a dictionary. We discussed this together at length.2 hours worth. He lives to ignite archery in others.

James and I have had many conversations about this and similar topics. He is a very wise person. And I'm thankful for him as a friend and an amazing bowyer, and have always listened to his advice. He is a wealth of knowledge. And has been on the Traditional scene for many years. He is what I consider, one of the last of the old guard still building.

Couldn’t agree more Shawn, he’s a class act.
I know of several guys that he has given ‘lessons’ to over the phone, and helped with their shooting, regardless their proficiency level or equipment.
