Welcome to TAS.

I’ve had friends that switched from right to left hand shooting because they were left eye dominant. They did exactly what you’re doing starting with a lighter bow until they built up enough strength to shoot.

Welcome to the fire 🔥, 9finger! You've come to the right place! Lots of knowledgeable folks here. Like Darren said, you're on the right track...slow and easy will get you switched over...you might want to look up Chuck Cote (ChuckC), he did exactly what you're trying to do and is a great "switch shot!" He's a great guy and very knowledgeable. (Don't tell him I said that!). All the best and, again, welcome!

Welcome 9finger.  Concur with LB that Chuck will be a great help.  Early last year I did something similar to to what you are trying now.  Went with a LH Sage @ 25# and it worked out real well.  Will suggest you're going to want to move up to 35-40# pretty quick once you get the basics down.  It really helped my release to pull a little heavier bow with my "weak" hand. Eventually I settled into shooting LH with a 40# dual shelf Thunderbird recurve and a 40# no-shelf/no arrow rest English Longbow.

Once you work up to 55#, I have a great LH Bearpaw Mohawk Hybrid/Recurve package for sale on this site.  [biggrin]

Welcome to TAS!  I made the switch years ago but then again I'm a true lefty.  Growing up there was not much in left handed except for a 1st base man's mitt.  So I grew up doing everything right handed.  I still bat lefty.  Any way, once you overcome the awkwardness you'll settle right in.  Don't give up.  Especially that you're left eye dominant.  Good luck.  Frank
