Years ago, I talked a friend into setting up a section of his land for us to shoot our bows. We had a big deep gulley that we set up a cable and had a moving 3D deer target and that was fun. but I took a bunch of small plastic bottles and fishing line to make the real targets. There was a large field with numerous small trees growing in areas to hang them in. So we had them hanging at different heights and some bottles we smaller than others. So we were constantly walking around and varying our shots and distances as if we were hunting. I always compete with myself to force myself to do better. Most of the time there was at least some wind to make things even more challenging. Most of all, it helped to force us to focus at a smaller target which we needed. Just for fun, we would set up 2 liter bottles out to a hundred yards or more. Of course we did the tennis ball thing where we chased it all over the place. The bottles were free basically and easy to pick back up and or set up. we also had tennis balls hanging as well or swinging. making it as fun as possible with challenges helps to make better shots out of us. For some of you this is old hat but for some it is not. I am ready to get back to shooting like this again.
