The HHA Black Bear is a great bow.

I have an 80# Black Bear that was built by Craig, and then converted to a TD and refinished by Jack Harrison, as a gift for Leo Merket (ala Leo’s wife and Justin Newell).

Some might disagree, but the carbon lam really seems to add something special to the performance of the bow. Of the twenty or so HHA bows that I have, it is easily the best shooting (closely followed by a HH Black Mamba which, interestingly enough, also has a lam of carbon fiber).

I agree completely.  I have two of them and they are my favorites, they have a very smooth and flat draw curve and cast like a bow 5-10# heavier than their draw weight.  If one of my black bears wasn't virtually identical to OPs this one would be on the way to houston already.

Andre the Sunset is just as fast, gauging from point on distance with the same arrow. 450-plus strings. But its 4 inches shorter. String follow vs backset! Or i should say Mr. Steens string follow vs backset.

I used to own that bow. It is a great bow.
If you ever decide you want to part ways with that bow let me know.

Take care.
