I am older, 63, which is not old to a lot of you but the milage has been very hard. I began shooting stick bows back in the mid 60s off and on. In the early 70s I got to handle a real bow, a beautiful recurve, no idea what make, but the sheer beauty of it was an eye grabber. I joined the Air Force for 4 years and managed to shoot some. After my time was up, got back into shooting again and began actually hunting. Shot a lot, ended up with a nice Dan Quillian Bamboo Longhunter that I wish I still had.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I began picking up old used recurves recurves at pawn shops for $15 -$30, mainly for use for bowfishing. Most of these bows would be camo painted by the last owner and no idea what they were until stripped. I read Fred Asbells book and began customizing the grips and shelves of many bows to fit me and my style fo shooting better. I also worked on my focus on tiny targets to become a better shot.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Years later, a series of bad health issues that nearly killed me and left me with a lot of brain tramau forced me to have to relearn everything. (Severe case of sleep apnea.) A botched foot operation has left me crippled for the last 10 years but am now in the process of getting that fixed at the VA. I am nearly blind in my left eye now but ok with the right and have been relearning to shoot again.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               It is a sheer joy to have the light weight bow in my hand again. Don't know if I will ever shoot as good as I once did but am enjoying the trying to. Messed up shoulders from too many trip and falls has forced me to shoot lighte poundage but that is a good thing for me now. Just never thought of guys being on the internet with Trad hunting. Way cool.
