Just a heads up. I saw on GMA this morning a warning about a new scam when you order a package.

Apparently you will be contacted about the delivery. What a coincidence, because I think we got one earlier this week in a text about something we ordered for our grandson. It said,  "Waiting for you to set delivery preferences." Why would we set delivery preferences? All our orders come right to our door. There was a tracking "code" that was not our tracking number. There was a phone number and what may be a web site that was highlighted in blue. Have never received this on anything we have ordered. Guessing you call the number or go to the site, tell them the tracking number is wrong, and they pump you for info.

Don't know for sure, but we didn't answer the text, and our package was delivered to our house as usual.

Anyone else received this text after having placed an order and found it to be legit or not?

Thanks for the info Clyde.

I also get emails from a scamming site ( __ FED EX)) that my package wasn't able to be delivered.  I never open them, just delete even if I'm waiting for a package from the real Fed Ex.

Any time you receive a letter, text, or email with a link, if you do not know the sender, or suspect  it is a fraud, or phishing, first click on the sender, name, twice if necessary to reveal their full email. If it is not @UPS.com or @FedEx. com you can google abuse at UPS to get their address and send a copy of the offender's email, and email address to the company so they can shut it down. Be sure to copy and paste the senders email address and put in your email to UPS, etc., or whoever they are claiming to be.
