As the title infers I am done with PayPal.  Finished!  Over!  Kaput!

I received a new credit card which replaced the old one.  I canceled the old one easy enough through their phone system but when I tried to add the new card the same system wouldn't accept it.  So I waited for a call back.  The moron who called back was totally incompetent, not to mention not understandable.  Try as I might I couldn't get him to understand that I canceled the old card.  He kept trying to enter my old card and the system wouldn't accept it because IT WAS CANCELED.  So I canceled my PayPal account.  I really expected to receive a call from PayPal to enquire why I canceled my account but who am I kidding?  They don't care about one customer they have millions world wide.

Well thanks for letting me vent.  It's been very therapeutic.

Frank

When we moved last year and changed cards, it was easy peasy! About 5 minutes on the computer and all was up to date. Sorry you had troubles. The service is definitely convenient!!!

You have to add the new card before cancelling the old one. At least that is how it worked for me the few times I’ve done it in the past.

Usually just activate the new card and throw the old one away, no need to cancel anything...

Nope, nope, nope.  The instructions were to cancel the old card first.  I might give in in a few weeks and rejoin......maybe.  Frank

I also just deleted one card, and added on a new card only 2 days ago.

Seemed seamless and quick, no issues at the time.

Ya know I would say that it's because I'm technology challenged but the tech couldn't get it entered either.  Frank

I've been using PayPal for a long time and probably hundreds of transactions without any problems. That being said I've never had their card, so I'm not familiar with policy and should have kept my mouth shut. I apologise... I have had a glitch or two over the years, but was able to resolve them quickly. It's a handy way to spend money (too handy), might be worth giving them another call.

Well, well, well, I just finished a survey from PayPal.  Let me tell you it wasn't good but I did leave the door open for them to contact me.  Ve shall see.  Frank

In my experience Paypal is about like most other outfits.  You go along for ages and have no trouble, then pow. You get in to a situation that makes your head want to explode.

I guess my question is; Why were you dealing with credit card information over a phone system? I'm not good with phones, so I don't use them much, but that sounds like a less secure way of handling sensitive information. I switched all my info online, no problem.

PayPal is a very secure way to pay a bill but if you have a problem you have to deal with people you can't understand.  Frank
