I contacted Scott Dobbs, grandson of Donald Dobbs, to see if he got any questions for Donald to answer. Unfortunately, not many.

This is your chance to ask a man, who was a close friend of Howard and Elisabeth, what it was like being their friend and interacting with them.

He's willing to not only answer your questions, but also make a video so you can hear directly from him. He's a great story teller. I have an audio cassette recording he sent to Hugh Rich in 1983. I could listen to that easy Southern drawl all day.

An opportunity like this doesn't come up very often. Take advantage of it.

1. pictures always showed him (Howard) hunting with bare minimum (bow, quiver, knife) is this the way he really hunted?
2. Did he mainly hunt slowly slipping through the woods? or did he sit and ambush ?
3. Any stories or information  would be nice? Donald's  own thoughts

What type of arrow rest/shelf configuration did Howard typically put on his bows?

What was the average weight of Howard's arrows?

Did Howard actually use a spine tester when he built a set of arrows, or did he just shoot them and match them based on impact?

What was Howard's favorite way to sharpen broadheads?

What was a day of practice like for Howard?
Can he share any drills, exercises, or games Howard used/played to stay sharp?
Was their anyone else besides Howard's Father that taught him or influenced him when learning as a kid?
What were some of the other weapons Howard's Father exposed him too?

Sorry, hope no too many. Thanks

Did Howard tell Don any of his secrets for how he could shoot so well? Or any other tips or tricks for being a better shot? Or what he thought was fundamental to being a good shot?

Did Howard give you any personal advise or direction regarding shooting, form, or hunting? Did it help?
