I'm in the process of refletching a few arrows and chopping feathers.  I'm sitting here eating a sandwich, taking a break when a question popped into my head.
Do you, after you have gone through the process of bareshafting, finding the best arrow setup for yourself, ever go back and bareshaft test anymore  even if you don't have any intention of changing your setup when you replace shafts or refletch?

I tune with a shaft that has been fletched, then cut the feather off leaving only the quill.  That is my "test arrow" that I keep for the setup to recheck if you change bowstring, rest materiel, etc. I shoot it from time to time to check form also to see if it is still flying well.

I basically did the same, tuned with a fletched arrow.  A couple of years ago I was camped at a  large 3D shoot. I was shooting a the practice bales, an older gentleman was questioning my arrow setup. I told me my process and he asked me if he could  strip the feather down to the quill on one of my arrows to experiment with for the same reason.  Even with my lousy shooting it grouped together with my others.
