I received a U-finish longbow blank from Mike Ballenger at 7 Lakes Archery last week, and wasted no time getting to work on it. It turned out great and it shoots great!
It's 68" and was 51@27" as received, I haven't scaled it since completion but it didn't drop too much after shaping and sanding. The riser is osage, cores are maple, and has stained birdseye maple veneers. I'll probably add a brown beavertail grip wrap, but that naked osage is growing on me!

I'd definitely recommend contacting Mike if you're looking for a made-to-order blank!

That osage is quite nice, but might be even nicer set off with a darker brown leather wrap to match the dark brown birds eyes in the maple, which is stunning.  Good job.  [thumb][thumb]

Beautiful work! Aaron

Yep, Mr, Ballinger builds an ASL as good as anyone out there in my opinion.

I've had a couple of his models and finished a U-finish blank last year. I highly recommend his U-finish deal, big savings and what is left to do in minimal in the scheme things.
