Probably old news to a lot of you but oh well. Years ago I found that when I really brushed in my stands, I got away with murder. What really drove this home was having a second person up a tree with me, like a kid or the wife. Back then I was trimming thick leafy limbs from trees and sticking them into the base of my hang on stands and even across the underside. But then one day I was staring at a couple of old artificial christmas trees being thrown out. Being the guy that I am and thinking year round about bowhunting, I saw a bonanza. So began the constant watch for more of these tree being thrown out or sold for a dollar or two at thrift shops etc. You can use them whole of a piece at a time to fill in a stand or whatever. The cool thing is that most have a heavy wire inside the limbs that can be bent to be used however you want them to be. This means that I could also use them to create thick back cover for me to keep from being sky lined by deer or whatever. I even use old trot line to run here and there to hang some from to my sides or backside. the possibilities are endless. The big thing is that they stay green all the time and don't dry up and fall off. So when I utilze a real cedar, I probably will fill in with the christmas tree limbs as well. And I also use the day lights out of the green garlan. I wrap my stands and seats with it to hide them from thieving eyes as well as some of my ladder stands. Even my wife watches out for them being thrown out and has stopped and picked up several. and they last for years! most people walk right past my stands and never notice them. Just a thought, especially for ground type blinds or shorter stands like I use.

actually you can hit them with some dull spray paint if you want to. I leave them outside to weather afterwards and knock off the new paint smell. it is all up to your imagination. I try to put my stands up early like in late august or early september so everything gets settled in scent wise etc. To me they are a treasure for my stands and blinds. you can always blend in some real stuff as well. if we work the wind correctly, then it becomes a sight thing and I got tired of getting busted when I went to use my urine bottle. if I get worried about rain, I have a couple of tree umbellas to use. then it is almost like a pop up blind cover wise.
