Thinking about getting a takedown Howard Hill, anybody have one that can comment on the system Craig uses and how it feels in hand? Or maybe even one you want to sell me :)

I have a t/d Cheetah. The system works very well, but obviously adds some weight to the handle. The bow looks like a regular Hill at first glance.

Mine is a Wesley Special string follow ambi/duo shooter. I really like this bow. The grip on mine is a metal sleeve, which adds noticeable weight. Nothing wrong with that, just pointing it out. Fit is tight and solid. As for the grip itself, mine is fatter and rounder than my other Hill bow grips. Also not near as deep. This bow was not made for me, so I’ve no idea if it’s standard or what. Maybe other shapes are available, I not really particular tho.

Also want to add: if I were to have anything different about this bow, I would ask for the grip to be on the bottom limb with the shank on the top limb. This would keep the two separated halves within an inch or so in total length.... that’s just me tho.

Pat, is that Craig’s large or small TD grip? And how does it feel compared to his standard grip on a one piece?

Large grip, and it does feel a good bit beefier than a standard grip.

I’d bet mine is the smaller one.

It’s just roughly the same width (maybe just a tad wider) but depth back-to-belly it’s maybe 1/3rd less.

I had one that I ordered from Craig but couldn't get to liking the grip.  Too round and not deep enough.  Mine was the large handle.  Didn't keep it long. With those sleeve handles there is not anything you can do to "fine tune" the grip to your preferred shape.  It is what it is.

That’s my concern, a baseball bat type of handle that I can’t get used to

+1

The grip on mine likewise seemed just a little too round and not quite deep enough. So I rewraped the grip like so and put a flat ridge on the bacK of the grip. Fits my hand nice and locates great.
