Florida closed public hunting during turkey season when this virus started. If the seasons open I'll definitely be out there. There's nothing like sitting in a treestand 15' up watching the sun come up and all the animals.

Frank,

I found an hog outfitter about an hour from you. The stands are setup and he will setup natural ground blinds if that's what you want. I'll pm you the info.

I'm ready but for the continuing practice.  I'm scouting a new mountain today.  It's a dry area so I'll be looking for water and last years rubs.  Mainly an elk area but I have a deer tag too.

James, hot here too.  Even up high the heat is on.

Illinois hunting season begins next Saturday!

The cowardly pukes in my state are clamoring for another shutdown of public areas.  Regardless, at a minimum, I will start hunting on private lands beginning next Saturday.  As always, I will have zero concerns for hand washing, social distancing, masks, or self-imposed quarantines.

I do essentially all my hunting on my own small tract only 10 minutes from the house. It is the heat rather than the virus that may limit my early season enthusiasm. I don't do well in early season heat.

Our deer season opens on Oct. 1, 2020 and runs through Jan. 17, 2021 with 3 days out in Nov and 4 days out in Dec. for firearms .  The early part is usually pretty darn warm and I have even seen it hot on Veterans Day.  Need to be ready to get em to a cooler quick if you kill one early.

Fall Hunt.   "As always, I will have zero concerns for hand washing, social distancing, masks, or self-imposed quarantines."

So as a U.S. citizen you're telling us you feel no responsibility to the common good, the hell with everybody else as long as you get to do what you want to do.  I wonder how your neighbors, relatives, parents, if they're still alive, kids, etc. feel about that. That's about as selfish an attitude as I've ever seen.

All the fishing, shooting, squirrel hunting, etc, that I do between the middle of January to Oct 1 is just filler waiting for deer season!

Like Bisch said, one of the MANY great things about the Lone Star State is there is always something to hunt...but like most, we focus on deer season when we talk “hunting season” beginning.

Sept 28 is opening day here, and were really looking forward to it.

September 1st here.  But my season is going to be pretty screwed up if I get out at all.  I'm a teacher, and with covid it's going to be next to impossible to get a sub so I can get away...

Working 12 hour days, but spend half of it dreaming about the Early Archery seasons. Urban Archery Antlerless starts Sep 5 in VA and the either-sex Archery season starts Sep 19 in PA.  Brynnen and I will be camping and hunting with the United Bowhunters of PA from Sep 26-29. Still trying to decide on my hunting bow(s) for this year. Try to have one go-to longbow for still/natural ground blind hunting and one recurve for hunting from inside tight blinds. It gets a little complicated because I have different bows I leave in PA and VA.

I recently moved to TN from NC.  Archery season opener here is the last week of September.  I just got back from scouting in the Cherokee National Forest and see that some oaks are already dropping.  I’m less than 2 hours from the western NC mountains where the season opens 2 weeks earlier, so I’ll probably start there if the weather is cool enough Click image for larger version - Name: B6EE2A33-9E63-47A9-B606-72AA834D77E7.jpeg, Views: 6, Size: 596.11 KB

We have all the blinds ready, arrows getting tuned up. Youngest son is hunting with a Browning Medallion this year in place of his usual Bear Mag. handle take down.

Putting the finishing touches on youngest daughters new recurve that she will be using.

Sure looking forward to it even though it was about 102 degrees here on the hill today.
